José Clemente Orozco (November 23, 1883 – September 7, 1949) was a Mexican painter, who specialized in bold murals that established the Mexican Mural Renaissance together with murals by Diego Rivera, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and others. Orozco was the most complex of the Mexican muralists, fond of the theme of human suffering, but less realistic and more fascinated by machines than Rivera.
These paintings adorn the ceilings and walls of the Governors Palace and the Instituto Cultural Cabañas

ReplyDeleteI know that I'm a bit of a whimp(don't denine it) , but Senor Orozco's art makes me want to run for cover-----scary shit! I think that I'm a Diego man to the core. Great photos,however, even though I could barely look at them. It felt like all my demons were coming at me at once.
