For one entire weekend, the Madonnari Festival was held. This is a street art competition with around 35 contestants who did chalk drawings on the sidewalks. The normally jammed downtown was even more crowded and there was live music all day and most of the night with rotating acts, jazz, big band, Mexican, etc. on the steps of the Teatro Juarez not to mention all sorts of other goings on: street dancers, children's religious plays, processions.
